  • 1 pre-made pizza crust or homemade, if you prefer
  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup ketchup-mustard sauce equal parts ketchup and yellow mustard mixed together
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup diced pickles
  • 1/2 cup sliced cherry tomatoes
  • Optional toppings: shredded lettuce additional ketchup, or mustard drizzle

Instructions
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (or as directed for your pizza crust).
  2. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper, then cook until fully browned. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  3. Spread the ketchup-mustard sauce evenly over the pizza crust.
  4. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the sauce.
  5. Add the cooked ground beef, spreading it evenly over the cheese.
  6. Top with the remaining cheese, followed by diced onions and pickles.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Add sliced cherry tomatoes and shredded lettuce if desired. Drizzle with additional ketchup or mustard for an extra kick.
  9. Slice and serve hot, enjoying a taste of presidential comfort food.

Notes

  • Sauce Variation: For an extra flavor boost, consider adding a bit of Worcestershire sauce to the ketchup-mustard mixture to give the base sauce a richer, umami taste.
 
  • Vegetarian Option: You can easily make this vegetarian by swapping the ground beef for plant-based crumbles or sautéed mushrooms.
 
  • Topping Tips: If you’re using shredded lettuce, add it only after baking to keep it crisp and fresh. Avoid adding lettuce before baking, as it can become soggy.
